Dark Knight F1 Car WIP by KnightVision3D Dark Knight F1 Car WIP by KnightVision3D
With the release of The Dark Knight Rises I've seen some great artists churn out some fantastic models of the Tumbler.

I decided to go out on a limb and try to think, what would Bruce Wayne do if, like me he had a passion for F1, and wanted Lucius Fox to build him a new Car?

This is what I have come up with, an Amalgamation of F1 inspiration, Tumbler technology and two Jet Turbines. Ignoring the rules of fixed aerodynamics, I have added hydraulic flaps and allowed the air collected above the cockpit to be funneled around the turbine exhaust and out under the rear diffuser.

Here are the other BatF1 Renders

Haha yeah, it does seem to fit that sort of timeline, jet powered F1 cars. And its getting close to 2015 and I don't see any flying cars yet either, thankyou Back to the Future for getting our hopes up.

Thanks for the fave as well mate

That is a cool concept :D

It's a shame they didn't use a talented artist like yourself to do the bat and bike design, they were horrid.

Lol thanks, Im betting they did get some pretty epic artists to design those two. Although I quite liked the tumbler, was a good take on it, and it was real, everything about it worked, which added to the coolness for me.

They kept the bike which came out of the destroyed tumbler from the previous film with the attachments bouncing around like cheap plastic parts :P and to make it worse the bike now went sideways.

As for the bat it was just hideous, and not practical.
Seeing the tumbler for the first time it was kinda cool and unique, I guess they didn't keep the designers for the rest of the movies.

Incase you need something else to work on, how would you imagine the bat should have been designed :)

Well the batpod (bike) I didn't rate in the previous film, looked too flimsey for my liking. As for the Bat itself, not seen too much of it as I haven't seen the film yet. But Id definitely think about doing my own version of it. - something more practical.

Keep your eyes peeled for that one.

Though I'm a absolute fan of the front of the car, about the rear I'm a bit more... mixed. I don't like the rear spoiler and the twin tires...

Thanks very much, Ill confess a little more thought went onto the front wing than the back. However without much effort the rear spoiler turned into a front on silhouette of batmans head. But the main thought there was trying to keep it in the same theme as some of the older batmobiles. With the big fin that comes out the back.

The twin tyres were my own choosing, and I guess its a matter of personal taste. I love the tumbler. So had to include these. But who knows, I might do a version with a single set.

Thanks very much for the comment though, I appreciate all the feedback.

You're welcome. In fact, I think that the rear wheels are either not thick enough, to look like two sets of two wheels, or shouldn't come as it is: it looks like a big wheel split in two...

Look forward to it, looks good.

I like the attention to the suspension setup and the f1 look. Also great work with the turbines connected to the exhaust :)

Thanks very much, yeah I've spent a fair bit of time considering how it would all work, but didn't want to detract too much from the batman look. Ill do some closeups of the body work when I get the scene for it completed.

Thanks a lot for the comments, I really appreciate them
